I am not dead, just busy aka the life of a 2L
I had high hopes for this blog in August. I had a plan…I was going to blog twice a week, cover some hot topics as well as school topics…it was going to be great. Really, it was.
Then I started classes, blinked my eyes a few times, and all of a sudden it is January 8th. Whoops.
You’ve probably heard the saying that goes “1L-scare you to death; 2L-work you to death; 3L-bore you to death.” Well 2L is spot on. I feel like I barely saw any of my friends that I actually had classes with. For my friends that I didn’t have classes with, randomly seeing them in the hallway felt like reuniting after being away for years. If we were lucky there would be a solid 3 minutes before one of us had class/work/meetings/mental breakdowns (slightly kidding on that last one). It’s been so bad that I resorted to getting my law school BFF a job at the firm I’m clerking for just so I could see her. Seriously.
I can’t believe I’m halfway through law school. It feels like I just started yesterday, but also like law school is the only thing I’ve ever known. I have a week and a half before spring semester starts again…just enough time to make a few posts and hopefully be able to keep up blogging.
My TL;DR version of what I’ve been up to:
- Working
- Classes- last semester I had criminal procedure, evidence, family law and advanced torts
- Trial advocacy- competition coming up in February
- Working
- Deciding on a research top for supervised writing
- Still working
- Hockey games
I have a few topics that I’m rolling over in my mind for posts right now. Because we are getting to the time of year when people are submitting their law school applications I want to have a post relating to that. I’ll probably post something about grades, and something about finding a job/internship/clerkship as well. I’m open to ideas for other posts as well, just throw your idea in the comments (I’ll make sure to give you credit too!)
